Ive had to swallow my tongue for the past eight years and be lead by a C average cheerleader down one of the darkest paths in this countries histories. and now that the country has woken up and elected a new different kind of politician the right has already started the attack some sixty days before he takes office. The Rushs, Hannitys and Palins of world are still questions his "radical" ties and blaming him for the market collapse before he even has a semblance of power. I cant even imagine the nonsense were gonna hear from the right wing propaganda machine
over the next few years.
So im with The Young Turks on this one, if the right wants to blame everything in the world that goes wrong on obama we need to start doing the opposite. Scientists have "cured" AIDS with a bone marrow transplant. So go around telling everyone, "you see when obama is president the world cures HIV."

Lets move on from the petty bullshit and get something done for the first time in years.

I cant even get motivated for a walk to get the mail and this woman ran a mile with a fox hanging onto her arm. now at first i was really impressed that anyone could continue running with a possibly rapid animal clinging to their body (i wonder if she was still rocking out to the cheetah girls on her ipod) but then i read her reasoning. at first it sounds normal enough, she apparently wanted to bring the fox with her to have it checked for rabies but what are you expecting when you walk into that hospital still holding a now exhausted fox. i can just see that first nurse yelling at her that all pets have to be on a leash. no matter what your gonna get a rabies shot when you tell the hospital you were attacked by a fox. so instead of just heading to the hospital and getting the shot she decided to bring it with her and get employees bitten as well.
but in the end i give her credit i couldn't do it, go for a jog that is. Plus, i would imagine your not exactly thinking straight when you have a wild animal hanging off of you like a gaudy piece of jewelry your drunk aunt from long island would wear. so kudos to you tenacious suburbanite you were smart enough to know the fox might have rabies but dumb enough to somehow let a fox bite you...on the arm. but then again maybe like another well known fox it had two tails and could fly.

Deerhunter: Microcastle

Ill put aside for the moment that the lead signer has Marfans syndrome, a genetic disorder that ive thought i had on more than one occasion in med school. Bradford Cox offers an eerie but soothing vocal component that fade in with the music becoming just another instrument in the line up that counters the often fractured and experimental sound of the band. This album is perfect for a day like today, where im stuck inside studying endlessly with the weather being just as gloomy as my thoughts. Though just when its hit rock bottom, as in Microcastle, the beat picks up and the jagged reverberating guitars that echo Sonic Youth bring me out of my daze. For anyone who appreciates the elegant subtleties of my bloody valentine mixed with the rock and pop sensibilities of the liars or radiohead this album is perfect for satisfying the whole left in rock/indie over the past few years. And if u liked this check out Atlas Sound or vice versa.

So i wish i had started this some time ago, so i could have followed the election as closely on here as i have in my now wasted personal time. but i start with the news of the day and leave the past where it is. to a degree.

Im sure im not alone but ive had enough of this woman. she collectively represents the worst parts of american pop culture, politics and our citizens. she had her run and the american people, in a surprisingly prosgressive move, shunned the airhead beauty pageant runner-up and voted for the things that are good about this country.
so i wish the "liberal media" and even FIXed news would just let Palin go back to alaska without so much as phone interview. we need to stop encouraging this parasitic behavior. to quote a wise movie from my youth, "we are all now dumber" from having listened to her nonsense. so cnn, msnbc, abc, fox, nyt, washpost, im begging you, stop with all the attention. no more interviews, no more endless waxing about her possible self election to the senate, no more discussion of her wardrobe or pregnant hillbilly children.
your endless conjecture and questioning provides her a soapbox for right winged, folk-tinged dribble, if you kick it out from under her she will stop poisoning this country with ideas that are sending us in the wrong direction.
shes a child throwing a tantrum, if you ignore her she'll probably just calm down and go back to playing moose hunting video games.
